The New BMW iX3: The First of the Neue Klasse

BMW ushers in a new era with the all-electric BMW iX3, the first model from its revolutionary Neue Klasse platform. Built at the new BMW Group Plant in Debrecen, Hungary, production begins in autumn 2025, with the market launch in Europe set for spring 2026 and the U.S. and China following in summer 2026.

A Leap in Design and Technology

The new iX3 is more than a model update — it’s a complete reinvention. Featuring BMW’s new design language, it combines timeless proportions with a clean, characterful look. Measuring 4,782 mm long and 1,895 mm wide, it offers generous space and aerodynamic efficiency (Cd 0.24). Boot capacity ranges from 520 to 1,750 litres, plus an additional 58 litres under the bonnet.

Inside, the minimalist cabin focuses on modern comfort and digital innovation. The BMW Panoramic iDrive — powered by the new BMW Operating System X — redefines driver interaction with advanced touch, voice, and gesture controls, panoramic projection across the windscreen, and the latest BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant.

Power and Performance

The BMW iX3 50 xDrive delivers 345 kW (469 hp) and 645 Nm of torque, sprinting from 0–100 km/h in 4.9 seconds with a top speed of 210 km/h.
Thanks to sixth-generation BMW eDrive technology, it achieves an electric range of up to 805 km (WLTP), 40% lower energy losses, and 30% faster charging speeds.

Smarter, Faster Charging

The iX3 supports 800V fast charging up to 400 kW, adding 372 km of range in just 10 minutes and charging from 10–80% in 21 minutes.
It also introduces bidirectional charging, enabling Vehicle-to-Load (V2L), Vehicle-to-Home (V2H), and Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) functions — turning the iX3 into a mobile energy source.

The “Heart of Joy”

BMW’s new “Heart of Joy” control unit delivers a next-level driving experience by integrating powertrain, braking, steering, and energy recuperation with ten times faster data processing. The result: signature BMW agility and precision, supreme traction, and effortless smoothness.

A Software-Defined Vehicle

The iX3’s advanced electronics architecture features four high-performance “superbrains”, each managing core functions such as driving dynamics, infotainment, and automated driving. This allows continuous software updates, AI integration, and deep connectivity via the My BMW App.

Sustainability at Its Core

A major focus of the Neue Klasse is circularity and sustainability. The iX3’s product carbon footprint is reduced by 34% compared to its predecessor, with up to one-third of materials sourced from recycled content, including marine plastics and recycled PET fabrics.
Production at the Debrecen plant operates entirely without fossil fuels.
