Our Review

What's Good

  • Bold styling Ð Eye-catching design gives it a premium, urban vibe.
  • Nimble and light Ð Feels zippy around towns
  • Electric and hybrid choices Ð Good for low-emission zones or future-proofing.

What's not so good

  • Shared underpinnings with Stellantis group Ð DoesnÕt feel as unique as the badge suggests.
  • Limited rear space Ð Adults will find the back seats tight.
  • Boot isn't class-leading Ð Slightly compromised practicality for a crossover.

The Alfa Romeo Junior, the brand’s first electric SUV, features a dynamic and striking exterior that presents itself as a powerful and performance-oriented vehicle. The front showcases the V-shaped scudetto grille, flanked by distinctive “3+3” LED headlights that project an assertive look. The side profile is characterized by sleek lines and a compact silhouette, while the rear is accentuated by stylish taillights and a sporty stance.

Inside, the Junior offers a modern and sporty cabin with high-quality materials and a driver-focused layout. The dashboard features two 10.25-inch screens for the instrument cluster and infotainment system, providing a high-tech feel. Unique design elements, such as air vents shaped like the Quadrifoglio four-leaf clover and optional Sabelt sports seats, add to the interior’s distinctive character.

Despite its compact size, the Junior is designed to maximize interior space, offering comfortable seating for passengers and practical storage solutions. The rear seats can be folded to expand the cargo area, enhancing its versatility for daily use. Features like the optional 360-degree parking sensors and 180-degree rear camera assist in maneuvering, adding to its practicality in urban environments.

The Junior is equipped with advanced technology, including the Alfa D.N.A drive mode selection system, a virtual voice assistant activated by saying “Hey Alfa,” and Level 2 autonomous driving features. The infotainment system supports smartphone integration, and the vehicle offers over-the-air updates to keep the software current. These features ensure a connected and modern driving experience.

The Junior is available in multiple powertrain configurations. The standard electric version features a 156hp motor, achieving 0-62 mph in approximately 9 seconds. While adequate for city driving, it may feel underpowered during high-speed maneuvers. The Veloce variant boasts a more potent 278hp motor, reducing the 0-62 mph time to 5.9 seconds and offering a more dynamic driving experience. This model includes a mechanical Torsen limited-slip differential, wider track, and stiffer suspension for enhanced handling. However, its range is limited to around 200 miles, making it less suitable for long-distance travel.
